An adventurer at heart, I was super psyched to put Taiwan Trip up on my calendar several months ago.
Taiwan has always been on my bucket list for a while now. Apart from the obvious reasons like stunning sceneries and mesmerizing tourist sites, I am always intrigued by the immensely rich culture and heritage, including the fashion fad, lifestyle, and varieties of cuisines.
So on February 14 to February 19, I went on a trip to Taiwan with Lion Travel as our full travel service stop with flights, accommodations, and tours. They led us to amazing places and so today I’m sharing these places with you.
EVER RICH TAIPEI DOWNTOWN DUTY-FREE SHOP
The first day in Taiwan, we were introduced to Ever Rich Taipei Downtown Duty-Free shop. Launched in 2013, Ever Rich caters a whole new world for fashion enthusiasts. It has more than 500 international and local top notch brands that offer advantages of duty-free price within one huge building in Taipei.
This six-storey building is so beautiful, shaped in butterfly wing style. Not only for fashion, Ever Rich also offers various lifestyle products from alcohol, tobacco, beauty, food, luxury, and confectionery. All of these products are high-quality. The brands are well curated, including Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Giorgio Armani, All Saints, Kate Spade, Estee Lauder, Dior, Chanel, and so much more.
Once purchased, these duty-free goods can be collected by customers at Taiwan’s international airports upon departure so that you don’t have to carry them with you.
On the fifth floor, there are dining and afternoon tea service, as well as Everrich Jewelry flagship shop. All of the pieces are amazing – designed with Taiwan theme, which makes them so unique. This floor coalesces Taiwanese art and culture with modern touches.
XINYI PUBLIC ASSEMBLY HALL
This is the very cultural and historical place in Taiwan – also, the amazing spot to take tons of Insta-worthy picture. Xinyi Public Assembly Hall felt so much like a small village with colorful houses. Some of the houses are now cute cafes. And here, you can spot (and take pictures with) Taipei 101.
YEHLIU GEOPARK
Yehliu Geopark is unforgettable. Its ocean view is breathtaking – but that’s not all. Yehliu Geopark has a spot where there are huge stones with some unique shapes called Queen’s head. It was said that the stones were shaped by erosion.
SHIFEN
Shifen is a small town famous for its sky lanterns. There is an annual event to release lantern to the sky that was named as one of the festivals to see in the lifetime by CNN Travel. In Shifen, visitors can buy miniature sky lanterns and postcards as souvenirs to bring home. As of the sky lanterns, we could write our wishes on the lanterns before releasing it to the sky. We released our lanterns in the middle of train rail. It was such a unique experience.
KAVALAN DISTILLERY
If you are a huge fan of whiskey, this is the place you should visit. At Kavalan Distillery, they showed us the complete process of whiskey making and ingredients. Also, we could watch how the color changes from crystal clear to gold.
