Considering I put on makeup everyday – and a full makeup every now and then, I am really careful about cleansing my face, and my skincare routine. I have to be particular about the steps and the brands (but we’ll get to that later). Today I would like to share my daily skincare steps.
TRIPLE CLEANSING
Especially after putting on a full makeup, I have to make sure I cleanse my face thoroughly – so I use the triple cleansing method. First I use micellar water, and then oil cleansing, and lastly I wash my face with water and soap. Even though it is a no brainer for some people, but I think it is worth mentioning that I use cotton for the first two steps.
TONER
Toner is especially helpful for people with oily or acne-prone skin; or in my case, after a heavy makeup. In my experience, toner is very refreshing that no matter how tired I am during the day, toner freshens my skin at night.
SERUM
Typically, serum should be applied twice per day: in the morning and at night. But sometimes I skip serum in the morning and prefer to apply it only at night (to prevent excess oily look especially during a long day). The serum that I use is rich in antioxidant that it works as anti-aging product as well as restoring firmness to the skin.
MOISTURIZER
My skin is leaning towards dry skin – so moisturizing my face at night is one of the most important steps. However, keep in mind that a heavy moisturizer can cause acne when used by someone with a special skin condition – so I recommend you to check with your dermatologist on whether or not you need moisturizers.
FACE MASK
When my skin is extremely dry, I usually end my skincare routine with a face mask. So this is not something that I do everyday. The right mask can help to re-hydrate my skin and tightened the pores. Also, the best part is face masks are super relaxing and soothing for the skin. For a normal skin, you can always play around with so many different face masks out there (especially the korean ones)!
